DL1961 is a brand that creates denim with sustainability at its core since 2008, overseeing the entire process from fiber to finished garment. It closes the loop by turning trash and old denim into new jeans, using Solar power and heat recovery as a source of energy to minimize the environmental impacts.
Their process starts with shredding the trash into fibers, dying and weaving it using the highest quality Dystar liquid Indigo Pigment Constructing to minimize harmful byproducts, and hand finishing the jeans with no water or harmful chemicals.
Only 15% of old clothes are being recycled.

- Thanks to all the ultra-absorbent fibers and waterless techniques we use along the way, their jeans take about 10 gallons of water while other jeans take1500. They also treat and recycle 98% of the water they use in their in-house treatment plant.
